What is the "immune system"?
The immune system is one of the human body’s most diverse and intricate. There are two forms of immunity, innate immunity which is present at birth, and adaptive immunity. This second form is divided into two types, humoral immunity (antibody formation), the responsibility of B-cells (bone marrow derived) and cell-mediated immunity, the responsibility of T-cells (thymus derived).
What is the thymus and what does it do?
The thymus is the major gland of the human immune system. The thymus is responsible for many immune functions including the production of T lymphocytes (T-cell), a type of white blood cell responsible for cell-mediated immunity. As we age, T-cells produced by the thymus become depleted and cannot be replenished. The drop in T-cell diversity that occurs with age is one reason why the elderly are more susceptible to disease. The entire spectrum of autoimmune disease falls into the pattern of immune dysfunction. SLE (Lupus), rheumatic arthritis, some diabetes, some thyroid disease, glomerulonephritis, Sjogren's disease, ITP, allergies, many of the cardiomyopathies, are all forms of autoimmune problems.
How do I enhance thymus function?
We can utilize thymic fractions, and supporting vitamin and mineral complexes to augment the immune system. You can replace some of the thymic factors lost to aging and disease by taking healthy, animal-derived freeze-dried thymus and glandulars. You can also help to prevent thymic involution or shrinkage by insuring adequate dietary intake of antioxidant nutrients. What is An Eye On Health, Inc. return policy?
An Eye On Health wants you to be happy with every purchase that you make at our site. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you can simply return the product to us within 30 days of purchase for a refund of the product price, less any shipping or gift wrapping charges. Any unopened merchandise returned within the 30 day period will be subject to a 15% restocking fee plus S&H fees. You will be responsible for the return postage and we strongly suggest UPS Ground, or Registered Mail, so you have proof of delivery. We will not be responsible for packages sent by regular mail. Once we receive and process your return, your charge card will be credited. We cannot accept any item that has been opened or used in any way.
